In Ayurveda, Durva (Bermuda grass or Cynodon dactylon) is traditionally used to treat or manage various health conditions and diseases due to its believed therapeutic properties. Some of the diseases and health issues for which Durva is used include:
1. **Digestive Disorders:** Durva is used to alleviate digestive problems such as indigestion, gastritis, and hyperacidity. It is believed to have a soothing effect on the gastrointestinal tract.
2. **Skin Disorders:** Durva is applied topically or used in herbal formulations to promote the healing of wounds, cuts, and skin irritations. It is thought to have antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.
3. **Inflammatory Conditions:** Durva is used in Ayurvedic treatments for conditions characterized by inflammation, such as arthritis and gout. It is believed to have anti-inflammatory properties that may help reduce pain and swelling.

Following are some the medicinal uses of Durva according to Ayurveda--
- For Epilepsy: Extract of whole grass can be helpful to cure Epilepsy. Mix the powder of Doob grass with honey and give it to the patient 1.
- For Vomiting: Give the juice of Doob grass to the patient. Give Doob grass with water in which rice is rinsed 1.
- For Nasal bleeding: There can be two ways to use Doob grass for nasal bleeding. First, take fresh juice of Doob grass and put 2-3 drops in each nostril. Second, make a paste of Doob grass and apply it on forehead 1.
- For Urinary problems: Take 10-20 ml juice of Doob grass with honey twice a day 1.
- For Skin problems: Apply the paste of Doob grass on affected area 1.
- For Headache: Apply the paste of Doob grass on forehead 1.
- For Ascites: Take 10-20 ml juice of Doob grass with honey twice a day 1.
- For Diarrhoea: Take 10-20 ml juice of Doob grass with honey twice a day 1.
- For Malaria fever: Take 10-20 ml juice of Doob grass with honey twice a day 1.
- For Diseases in children: Give 5-10 ml juice of Doob grass with honey twice a day 1.
- For Bleeding diathesis: Take 10-20 ml juice of Doob grass with honey twice a day 1.
Doob grass is also used externally as well as internally to relieve stress, headaches, body heat, irritation of eyes, bloody nose, ulcers, acidity, stomach ache, and fevers 2. It is said that even mere walking barefoot on a Doob grass carpet is therapeutic and healing in nature 2.
